We spoke with Mark Reid, local Playwright and Director of his new play "Regrets" which will be produced at the 2026 Omaha Fringe Festival.  Mark gives us much more insight about this political play and why it was so important to him to write it. In a world where many are drawing boundaries with some of their closest friends and family, Mark would like people to have the conversation about compromise and tolerance.  All political ideologies in our current political timeline will be shown in this play in an unusual way, so you won't want to miss it.

We spoke with Julian Adair - President, Director, and Instructor with her company, the Adair Dance Academy, and is also the Artistic Director of Ever After Productions.  
We always have a delightful conversation with Julian, and we had podcasted about "A Suite For Small Spaces III", held at Shelterbelt, however, we touched on different things this podcast, including that "A Suite for Small Spaces IV" at the Omaha Fringe Festival at UNO006 will be a different show than the third one!  So even if you saw the third one, you won't want to miss this intimate and exquisitely moving production of the fourth one.  Each vignette has their own texture and feeling and we are excited to see this production!

We were able to meet with the whole cast for this new show by Voices in Alliance Omaha opening at Shelterbelt Theatre July 15th!  
This is a thoughtful drama, described as a "memory play", about a family with their complex relationships.  At the center is the character, Nut, played by Randall Johanningsmeier and the relationship with their father, a Vietnam Veteran who is struggling with being exposed to Agent Orange and dealing with his experiences during the Vietnam War.  Nut's mother "France" as played by Kerri Forrester, and sister "Crimp" as played by Aisha Lomax, and his father "Julius" as played by Kevin Barratt also are part of this story.  Can this family who want to understand and care for each other strengthen their relationships before it's too late?

The Elkhorn Community Theatre presets "Legally Blonde The Musical" as their summer musical at the Elkhorn High School, beginning June 19th until June 28th!  We spoke with Noelani Howland, who plays the confident, queen of comebacks and forever positive, Elle Wood, along with her antagonist character Professor Callahan, played by Keaton Kreikemeier.  We had a delightful conversation about making this fun production - the cast, music, dancing, costumes, and even the dogs are something you'll not want to miss hearing about.  Find out all about it here!
"Legally Blonde The Musical" is based on the 2001 hit film, and opened at the Palace Theatre on Broadway on April 29, 2007.  It ran until October 19, 2008.  Though it didn't win any awards, it was celebrated with seven Tony Nominations and a Drama Desk Award Nomination.

We spoke to Jon Flower, Director of the play "The Cottage" by Sandy Ruskin, which is the Omaha Premier of this play by the Bellevue Little Theatre! This play hit Broadway in 2023 so now is your chance to see it!  Similar to the energy of "Noises Off" it is a prop-heavy and fast paced show, set in 1923 Britain.  Great for a date-night show, it is recommended for those 17 and over as it does deal with some adult subject matter, so bring your partner and come out and see his hilarious play!  You may have to see it twice to see things you may have missed the first time!

We spoke with Director and Intimacy Director/Choreographer, Addie Barnhart, MFA about the production she is Directing at Omaha Community Playhouse, "Dial M for Murder." 
This is a new adaptation of Frederick Knott's masterpiece of suspense and 1965 Alfred Hitchcock film and was adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher.  Hatcher's adaptation premiered in July 2022 so this is a fresh take on this classic thriller!

We visited the Bellevue Little Theatre during their rehearsal for "Fiddler on the Roof" and spoke with Stage Director, Laureen Pickle; Music Director, Meg Latta; and the Actor who is playing Tevye, Dave Campbell to talk about this fun musical production!

Fiddler on the Roof is a classic 1964 Broadway musical and 1971 filmset in 1905 czarist Russia, focusing on Tevye, a poor Jewish dairymanin the village of Anatevka struggling to maintain his religioustraditions amid changing times and rising anti-semitism. The storyfollows Tevye as he navigates the, often romantic, marital choices ofhis three eldest daughters, who defy tradition, while his communityfaces forced expulsion.

We spoke to Director and Interim Artistic Director, Jamie Bullins and Actors Noelle Dominique Rodriguez and Harper LaRue Allen about their show "The Rocket Men" written by award winning playwright, Crystal Skillman.  The show opens March 12th at the Carson Theater at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. 
This show is presented by seven women who play the role of seven former male Nazi scientists who immigrated to the US during World War 2 and were the backbone of the NASA program.  These scientists were key in the moon landing and "Operation Paperclip."
There is a lot to unpack in this play based on a true story, and you'll want to go see it!

We spoke with three talented actors in Voices in Alliance Omaha's (VIA Omaha) production of "Skin Tight" written by Joshua Harmon. All of the actors we spoke to, Diana Watson, Nathan Wilson, and Bill Huston are excited about the story that this play tells and felt so strongly about this script that they made arrangements in their lives to be a part of it. 
"Skintight" begins when a daughter visits her fashion-designer father during her own personal crisis, only to also meet his younger partner who is the same age as her son.  This play explores adult issues such as attraction, love, the pain of aging and wanting to remain youthful, and the dynamics of a Jewish family.  You won't want to miss this play, and the talented actors who are working to put this together!
"Skintight" premiered Off-Broadway in 2018 and won the Edgerton Foundation New Play Award in 2017.

We spoke to Director, Jeannie Lorimor and Assistant Director Scott Hite about Mills Masquers Theater's production of "Between the Lines."  This is a large musical that is sure to please with catchy music, romance, a new school, and the world of books and fantasy. Join Mills Masquers for this story of a teenager who struggles to fit into a new school while meeting her Prince!
Between the Lines is a play based on a book of the same name, written by Jodi Picoult, with music and lyrics written by Elyssa Samsel adn kate Anderson, and book by Timothy Allen McDonald.  It Premiered at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre on September 15, 2017, and in 2022 went Off-Broadway at the Tony Kiser Theatre (originally scheduled in 2021 and delayed twice due to the pandemic).
